The new Netflix series “Stranger Things”, by Matt and Ross Duffer, became very popular in the summer of 2016. The show is set in 1983 in Hawkins, Indiana, a very small town located next to a very mysterious government facility.

The Cannon episode, “The Vanishing of Will Byers”, starts off when Will Byers doesn’t make it home after playing Dungeons and Dragons at a friends house. Concerned, Wills’s mother and friends believe it has something to do with a government facility, and refuse to believe he’s dead. The following eight episodes of season one include many thrilling supernatural events, like the discovery of an alternate dimension (the upside down). Originating in the “Upside Down” is the terrifying Demogorgon and the discovery of Eleven that spooks the locals of Hawkins.

Stranger Things is centered around a very likable and relatable group of boys:  Will Byers, Dustin Henderson, Lucas Sinclair, and Mike Wheeler. The relationships between them are very realistic, which is one of the things to really be admired about the show. The way the boys bicker and fight throughout every episode is how young boys act around each other, which really adds to the story.

Each Character stands out in their own ways, for example, Dustin has no front teeth which gives him a lisp when he speaks, which makes him a fan favorite.

Mikes developing relationship with Eleven is also a very iconic part of the show that stranger things fans love.

The show also does a great job at building up the suspense and adding some genuine scares. It’s hard not to care and be concerned about some of the characters when they are in danger because the Duffer brothers did such a great job at portraying them. Along with the way the characters were portrayed, the lines really added to the scenes and weren’t cliche.

Towards the beginning of the season, the boys go out into the woods looking for their lost friend. Instead, they find a very bizarre and strange little girl standing cold and wet by herself. The boys have no idea how or why she was there. They name her Eleven (El for short), based on the number eleven she has tattooed on her arm. It is clear to the boys that she is unable to speak well and looks very scared. Eleven is played by Millie Bobby Brown and the show wouldn’t be nearly as amazing without her character.

Eleven plays a major role in the series, all of the boys become intrigued about who she is and where she came from, especially Mike Wheeler. In the following episodes of season two coming out on Friday, October 27th, 2017, fans can’t wait to see where Mike and Elevens relationship will go. Fans also await to see the future of the boys and the government facility next door.

The following episodes of season two can go in many directions, some fans predict that Eleven could stay in the upside down forever and only contact the boys through some of the ways used in season one. Another popular theory is that only Will Buyers will be able to see the Demogorgon and Eleven, similar to how he was singled out and left alone in the upside down last season.
